The short answer

It is $299 per year. That covers direct access to the TRULAND Precision Ag Support Center at (260) 296-2391 for diagnostics and code assistance, in-field operational and precision ag questions, and John Deere Operations Center data support in season and off season. A full year of Call Center support is also included with the $1,500 Total Farm Support Plan, so you do not need to buy both in the same year.

One number, all year

Precision Ag Phone Support is $299 per year. It gives you direct access to the TRULAND Precision Ag Support Center at (260) 296-2391 for diagnostics and code assistance, in-field operational and precision ag questions, and John Deere Operations Center data support both in season and off season.

The reason it exists is that most technology problems on a farm are small, urgent and solvable over the phone. A code comes up. A file will not send. A screen is asking for something the operator has never seen. The machine is sitting, the day is burning, and the actual fix is four minutes long once someone who knows the system is on the line.

Without a support plan, that four-minute fix turns into calling around, waiting for a callback, or scheduling a service visit for something that never needed a truck.

Diagnostics and code assistance

Codes are informative if you know how to read them and alarming if you do not. A support call starts by pinning down what the code actually is, what conditions produced it, and whether it is a technology issue, a settings issue or a genuine mechanical fault.

That sorting is most of the value. A meaningful share of calls are settings or configuration, not failures, and those get resolved on the phone. Some are real faults, and knowing that early means you order the right part and schedule service instead of losing another half day to guessing. Either way you end the call knowing which of the two you have.

When we walk you through it, we talk about what is on the screen in front of you, not what a manual says the screen should look like. Have the machine model, the display, and the exact code text ready and the call goes much faster.

In-field operational and precision ag questions

Not every call is a failure. A lot of them are a question that came up in the moment and cannot wait until winter.

How do I set this up for a different implement width. How do I get section control to shut off on this headland. Why is my coverage map showing overlap where I did not overlap. How do I switch guidance line types for this field. How do I get this prescription onto the display. How do I set up a new operator so his work records under his name. What does this setting actually change.

Those questions are legitimate and they are worth asking rather than working around. Half the reason growers use a fraction of the technology they own is that there was never a convenient moment to ask. A phone support plan makes asking convenient, which is exactly the point. It also matters when the person in the cab is not you. An operator who knows there is a number to call is far more useful than one who is guessing at settings on a machine he ran twice last year.

Operations Center data support

The account side generates as many calls as the machines do, and it is covered in season and off season.

Common ones: work is not showing up in Operations Center after a day in the field. Data landed under the wrong field or the wrong client. A prescription will not load onto a machine. Fields appear twice. A boundary looks wrong. You need to share data with an agronomist, a landlord or a co-op and are not sure how to set the permissions. You need a report out of the system and cannot find where it lives. You added a machine and it is not showing in the account.

These are the calls where having a dealer who can look at your setup helps most, because the fix usually depends on how your specific account is organized rather than on a generic answer.

The John Deere ExpertConnect app

John Deere ExpertConnect is another route into a support conversation. It lets you open a support request from your phone and, importantly, attach photos and video of what you are actually seeing.

That helps more than it sounds like it should. A photo of the display, the code screen, the connector or the part in question removes a whole round of back-and-forth describing something over the phone. It also creates a written thread, so if the same issue comes back in six weeks there is a record of what was done last time.

Use whichever is faster in the moment. Call (260) 296-2391 when the machine is stopped and you need an answer now. Use ExpertConnect when a picture will explain it faster than you can, or when you are raising something that is not stopping you today.

What phone support does not replace

Being straight about it. Phone support is help over the phone. It does not include on-site service calls, parts, or the setup work in a Total Farm Support Plan such as Operations Center clean-up, data transfer to equipment, software updates and in-field startup.

If a call turns out to be a mechanical failure, we help you identify it and get it to the right service department, but the repair is separate. If a call reveals that the underlying problem is a messy account or an out-of-date software version across your fleet, we can fix a piece of it on the phone, but the real answer is usually a support plan and a proper pre-season pass.

If you buy a $1,500 Total Farm Support Plan, a full year of Call Center support is already included. You do not need both in the same year.

Who should buy it

Growers with technology on the machine and no in-house person who owns it. Operations with hired or seasonal operators who need somewhere to call. Anyone who has just added a machine, a display or a new capability and knows questions are coming. Anyone who has already lost half a day this year to a technology problem, because at $299 a year the plan costs less than that half day.

It fits less well if you have someone on staff who genuinely handles this, or if you run one machine with basic guidance, no documentation, no prescriptions and no data sharing.

How to sign up

Call the Precision Ag Support Center at (260) 296-2391 or contact your nearest TRULAND store to get set up for the year. Doing it before the season starts is better than doing it the morning you need it.

We also publish guides and video libraries covering general help, Operations Center, harvest, sprayer and planting. Plenty of common questions are answered there, and having watched the relevant one makes a support call shorter.

Questions

Frequently asked

How much is TRULAND precision ag phone support?

It is $299 per year. That covers direct access to the TRULAND Precision Ag Support Center at (260) 296-2391 for diagnostics and code assistance, in-field operational and precision ag questions, and John Deere Operations Center data support in season and off season. A full year of Call Center support is also included with the $1,500 Total Farm Support Plan, so you do not need to buy both in the same year.

What is the precision ag support number?

(260) 296-2391. That is the TRULAND Precision Ag Support Center. When you call, have your machine model, the display you are using, and the exact wording of any code or message on the screen. If you can also say what you were doing when it happened, such as loading a prescription or starting documentation, the call usually resolves faster because it narrows the problem immediately.

What kinds of problems can be solved over the phone?

More than most people expect. Codes and error messages, files that will not send to a machine, prescriptions that will not load, section control shutting off in the wrong place, coverage maps that show overlap you did not run, work not appearing in Operations Center, data filed under the wrong field, setting up a new operator, and adjusting settings for a different implement. A meaningful share of calls are configuration rather than failure, and those are phone fixes.

Is a service call included?

No. Phone support is help over the phone. It does not include on-site service visits, parts, or the pre-season setup work in a Total Farm Support Plan such as Operations Center clean-up, data transfer to equipment, software updates and in-field technology startup. If a call identifies a genuine mechanical failure, we help you pin it down and get it to the right service department, but the repair itself is billed separately.

What is the John Deere ExpertConnect app?

It is a John Deere app for opening a support request from your phone, with the ability to attach photos and video of what you are seeing. That is useful because a picture of a display, a code screen or a connector removes a round of describing things verbally. It also leaves a written thread you can look back at. Use it when a picture explains it faster, and call (260) 296-2391 when a machine is stopped and you need an answer now.

Do my hired operators get to use it?

Yes, and that is one of the better reasons to have it. An operator who hits a problem at 7 p.m. and has a number to call is far more useful than one guessing at settings on a machine he ran twice last year. Make sure your operators actually have the number, (260) 296-2391, in their phones before the season rather than expecting them to track it down while the machine sits.
