Our Napoleon store is the John Deere dealership for Henry County and the Maumee River corridor, working with the tiled, heavy Black Swamp ground that makes northwest Ohio one of the most productive farming regions in the country.
TRULAND Equipment in Napoleon is the John Deere dealership for Henry County. We handle sales, parts and service for John Deere tractors, combines, planters, drills, sprayers, tillage, Gators and mowers, plus STIHL, Kuhn, Great Plains, Toro, SnowEx and Boss. Call 419-592-3075 to check parts, schedule service or ask about a machine. We also serve Liberty Center, Holgate, Deshler, Malinta, Hamler, New Bavaria and McClure.
Henry County was part of the Great Black Swamp, and the ground here still farms like it. What is now some of the richest cropland in the United States was dense, wet forest and marsh until settlers spent decades cutting ditches and burying tile through the second half of the 1800s. Local clay tile mills supplied the drainage that turned the swamp into farm ground, and that inheritance is still the central management issue on most Henry County farms. Poor natural drainage is the main soil limitation, and nearly everything here depends on tile and open ditches doing their job.
The result is level, heavy, high-organic ground that grows corn, soybeans and wheat as the main cash crops, with tomatoes and sugar beets historically grown as specialty crops in the area. Field sizes are large, layouts are square and the Maumee River runs right through the middle of the county past Napoleon, Florida and Grand Rapids. When you farm ground like this, timing is everything, because heavy soil that is fit on Tuesday can be unworkable by Thursday.
John Deere is the primary line, and around Napoleon that means big row crop and 4WD tractors, combines with corn heads and platforms, large planters, drills and air seeders, self-propelled sprayers and tillage built to move heavy soil without making the compaction problem worse. Tillage decisions here are serious business, because on tight Black Swamp ground the difference between the right pass and the wrong pass shows up in the yield map.
We also carry Kuhn and Great Plains for tillage and seeding, CAM Superline trailers, Toro, SnowEx and Boss snow plows, and a deep STIHL catalog. On the smaller end, the 1023E, 1025R, 2025R and 3025E tractor and loader packages, Gators and zero-turn mowers move steadily around Napoleon, Liberty Center and Deshler for acreage owners, township crews and commercial mowing operations.
On this kind of soil, the fit window is not a suggestion. A wet spring can hand you four usable days, and if a planter goes down on day two of those four, that is the season. The Napoleon parts counter and service department are built around getting you back in the field inside your window. Call 419-592-3075 and you will get a straight answer on what is on the shelf, what is at another TRULAND store and what has to come in.
We stock parts for tractors, tillage tools, planters, air seeders, drills, sprayers, hay equipment, ag technology, skid steers, track loaders, mini excavators and wheel loaders. Parts can be ordered through Shop.Deere.com and we operate Parts Drop Locations. For customers who do their own work, we support Service ADVISOR, operator manuals, John Deere Operations Center Pro Service, Expert Alerts, Equipment Mobile and the ExpertConnect app. Off-season inspection programs cover 4WD and row crop tractors, combines, corn heads, platforms, planters up to and greater than 12 row, drill box air CCS, sprayers, balers, mower conditioners, tillage, forage harvesters, skid steers, compact track loaders, compact wheel loaders and compact excavators. PowerGard Protection Plan coverage is available.
Henry County drains straight into the Maumee, and the Maumee watershed carries nutrient rules and programs that Ohio farmers here have to plan around. That makes documented, defensible nutrient placement more than a yield question. Variable rate application, accurate zones and clean records are part of how a farm stays in step with watershed expectations and keeps phosphorus where it belongs.
Our agronomy service packages include Data Services at $1 per acre, where we build management zones or sample grids, upload them to John Deere Operations Center and load your soil test results and prescriptions, with you pulling samples and paying lab fees. In-season soil nitrogen testing (PSNT) is $60 per sample, plant tissue testing is $60 per sample and manure testing is $90 per sample. Our Total Farm Support Plan is $1,500 for spring or fall and covers Operations Center pre-season review and data clean-up, data transfer to equipment, software updates, in-field technology startup and a full year of Call Center support. Boundary mapping uses a TRULAND-supplied 835M Gator, with a Full-Service Boundary Program available. Phone support is $299 per year at (260) 296-2391.
Northwest Ohio harvests a lot of wet corn, and drying capacity often decides how many acres a day you can actually run. Our grain division has been in the grain storage and handling industry for almost 60 years and handles full design and site layout, equipment selection, expert installation, routine and preventative maintenance, custom millwright services and complete dryer service.
We work with Brock on-farm grain storage systems, Brock pneumatic systems, Brock conditioning fans and heaters, Meyer and Superb grain dryers, Farm Fans dryers and parts, KLEENair systems, Grain Management Systems and Honeyville bucket elevators, catwalks, conveyors, support structures and towers, and we stock a large inventory of Hutchinson and Westfield. If your dryer is the reason the combine sits, call 419-592-3075 in the off-season and let us look at the site.
TRULAND runs 18 stores across Indiana and Ohio, with several of them close by in northwest Ohio. For a Henry County farm that means a part sitting in Wauseon, Archbold, Napoleon, Edgerton or Van Wert can be moved to whichever counter you are standing at, rather than going on backorder in the middle of your window.
It also means a wider used equipment pool. Across the group we list hundreds of used units at a time in tractors, harvesting, tillage, planting and seeding, sprayers, grain handling, hay and forage, utility vehicles and compact construction. Technician specialties, grain systems crews and precision ag support are shared across the group, so the bench behind your local store is a lot bigger than the building.
