Our Woodburn store is the John Deere dealership for eastern Allen County and the Indiana side of the Maumee River valley, serving the grain farms, Amish and Plain community farms and acreage owners along the Ohio state line.
TRULAND Equipment in Woodburn is the John Deere dealership for eastern Allen County. We handle sales, parts and service for John Deere tractors, combines, planters, sprayers, hay equipment, Gators and mowers, plus STIHL, Kuhn, Great Plains, Toro, SnowEx and Boss. Call 260-632-4242 to check a part, schedule service or ask about a machine. We also serve New Haven, Harlan, Monroeville, Grabill, Hoagland and Maples.
Woodburn sits in the far eastern corner of Allen County, a few minutes from the Ohio line, in the Maumee River valley. The Maumee forms here at Fort Wayne where the St. Joseph and the St. Marys come together, then runs northeast past Woodburn and into Ohio on its way to Lake Erie. That puts this store squarely inside the Maumee watershed, and the Maumee Watershed Alliance is itself based in Woodburn, which tells you how central water and drainage are to farming this ground.
Field ground here is level to gently rolling, tiled, and worked hard for corn and soybeans with wheat in some rotations. The eastern side of Allen County is real farm country in a way that surprises people who only know Fort Wayne. Around Grabill, Harlan and New Haven there is a long-established Old Order Amish community dating back to the 1850s, and Plain community farms are a meaningful part of the customer base here, running a different mix of equipment and a different scale than the big grain operations a few miles away.
John Deere is the primary line and the range at Woodburn is wide, because the customer base is wide. On the grain side we handle row crop tractors, combines, corn heads and platforms, planters, drills and air seeders, sprayers and tillage. On the smaller and mid-size side there is steady demand for utility tractors, loaders, hay and forage equipment, balers and mower conditioners.
We also carry Kuhn and Great Plains for tillage and hay tools, CAM Superline trailers, Toro, SnowEx and Boss snow plows, and a deep STIHL catalog of saws, trimmers and blowers. Sub-compact and compact tractors move well here, especially the 1023E, 1025R, 2025R and 3025E tractor and loader packages, because the country between Woodburn, Harlan, Hoagland and Leo-Cedarville is full of five to forty acre places with pasture, woods, a long lane and something that needs plowed every winter.
The reason a store exists in Woodburn rather than everybody driving into Fort Wayne is simple. When a machine goes down during planting or harvest, the difference between a twenty minute drive and an hour drive is real money. Our parts counter and service department are here so eastern Allen County, and the Ohio farms just across the line around Antwerp and Payne, have a close counter. Call 260-632-4242.
We stock parts for tractors, tillage tools, planters, air seeders, drills, sprayers, hay equipment, ag technology, skid steers, track loaders, mini excavators and wheel loaders. Parts can be ordered online through Shop.Deere.com, and we operate Parts Drop Locations. For customers who do their own work, we support Service ADVISOR, operator manuals, John Deere Operations Center Pro Service, Expert Alerts, Equipment Mobile and the ExpertConnect app. Off-season inspection programs cover 4WD and row crop tractors, combines, corn heads, platforms, planters, drill box air CCS, sprayers, balers, mower conditioners, tillage, forage harvesters, skid steers, compact track loaders, compact wheel loaders and compact excavators. PowerGard Protection Plan coverage is available.
Everything farmed around Woodburn drains into the Maumee, and phosphorus and nitrogen placement in this watershed gets a lot of attention on both sides of the state line. Good precision ag data is how you put nutrients where they do work and document what you did.
Our agronomy service packages include Data Services at $1 per acre, where we create management zones or sample grids and upload them into John Deere Operations Center along with your soil test results and prescriptions, with you pulling the samples and paying lab fees. In-season soil nitrogen testing (PSNT) is $60 per sample, plant tissue testing is $60 per sample and manure testing is $90 per sample. Our Total Farm Support Plan is $1,500 for spring or fall, covering an Operations Center pre-season review and data clean-up, data transfer to your equipment, software updates for compatibility, in-field technology startup and a full year of Call Center support. Boundary mapping is done with a TRULAND-supplied 835M Gator, with a Full-Service Boundary Program available. Phone support is $299 per year at (260) 296-2391.
Our grain division has been in the grain storage and handling industry for almost 60 years. We handle full design and site layout, equipment selection, expert installation, routine and preventative maintenance, custom high-quality millwright services and complete dryer service.
Partner manufacturers include Brock on-farm grain storage systems, Brock pneumatic systems, Brock conditioning fans and heaters, Meyer and Superb grain dryers, Farm Fans dryers and parts, KLEENair systems, Grain Management Systems and Honeyville bucket elevators, catwalks, conveyors, support structures and towers. We also stock a large inventory of Hutchinson and Westfield. If you are adding a bin, replacing a worn-out dryer or laying out a new site, the off-season is the time to talk. Call 260-632-4242.
TRULAND runs 18 stores across Indiana and Ohio, including Fort Wayne just down the road and several stores across the line in northwest Ohio. For a Woodburn customer that means parts availability first. If the part is in Fort Wayne, Huntington, Van Wert or Napoleon rather than on our shelf, we move it instead of putting you on backorder.
It also means a much larger used equipment pool. Across the group we list hundreds of used units at a time in tractors, harvesting, tillage, planting and seeding, sprayers, grain handling, hay and forage, utility vehicles and compact construction. If the machine you want is at another store, we can look at getting it here. Grain systems crews, precision ag specialists and technician specialties are shared across the group as well.
