Our Archbold store serves the grain and livestock farms of southwestern Fulton County and the surrounding Black Swamp country, where tile drainage, tight in-season windows and Lake Erie nutrient rules shape how every acre gets managed.
TRULAND Equipment has a store right in Archbold serving Fulton County and the surrounding Black Swamp farm country. We handle John Deere sales, parts and service for tractors, combines, planters, sprayers, tillage, hay equipment, Gators and mowers, plus STIHL, Kuhn, Great Plains and Toro. Call 419-445-1565 for parts, service scheduling or equipment questions. We also work with farms around Pettisville, Stryker, Ridgeville Corners and Wauseon.
Nearly all of the farm ground around Archbold was once under the Great Black Swamp, the wetland that covered Fulton, Henry, Williams, Wood, Defiance, Paulding, Putnam and neighboring counties before it was cleared and drained. That history is not a museum piece here. It is why this ground is flat, heavy and productive, and it is why tile drainage is not optional. By 1880 more than fifty tile factories were running in northwest Ohio, and the tile lines that were put in then are still being replaced and upgraded today.
What comes off that ground is mainly corn, soybeans and wheat, with specialty acres scattered through the area and a strong livestock and dairy presence going back generations. German Township around Archbold has been the center of an Amish and Mennonite farming community since Alsatian and Swiss settlers arrived in the 1830s, and that community still runs a meaningful share of the farms, dairies and shops between Archbold, Pettisville and Stryker.
Heavy clay ground rewards the right tillage and the right tires more than it rewards horsepower alone. Our Archbold store sells and supports the full John Deere line, from row crop and 4WD tractors through combines, corn heads, platforms, planters, drills, air seeders and sprayers. Tillage matters a lot here because compaction and residue management on tiled clay ground drives yield the following spring, and we carry Great Plains and Kuhn alongside John Deere for tillage and hay tools.
We also handle Toro, CAM Superline trailers, SnowEx and Boss plows, plus a deep STIHL catalog. For the smaller operations and the shops and homesteads around Pettisville and Ridgeville Corners, the 1023E, 1025R, 2025R and 3025E tractor and loader packages, Gators, and ZTrak and QuikTrak mowers move steadily. Call the store at 419-445-1565 for what is on the lot.
Fulton County sits in the Western Lake Erie Basin, so nutrient management is not just agronomy here, it is compliance and paperwork. Fulton County producers are eligible to enroll acreage in H2Ohio, the state water quality initiative, and enrollment requires a current soil test that is not older than four years and an approved voluntary nutrient management plan. Available practices include overwintering cover, subsurface phosphorus placement and manure incorporation. Application rates follow the Tri-State Fertilizer Recommendations.
That reality changes what farmers need from a dealer. Variable rate application, accurate as-applied records, section control and clean Operations Center data are no longer nice extras. They are how you document what you did. Our precision ag team supports exactly that work, and the Precision Ag Support Center is at (260) 296-2391.
Spring in northwest Ohio can hand you eight good planting days and then three weeks of rain. Fall can be just as tight. That is why our parts counter and service department run on in-season urgency. We stock parts for tractors, tillage tools, planters, air seeders, drills, sprayers, hay equipment, ag technology, skid steers, track loaders, mini excavators and wheel loaders, and you can order online through Shop.Deere.com. We also operate Parts Drop Locations so pickups do not always mean a trip to town.
The better move is inspections in the off-season. We run inspection programs for 4WD tractors, row crop tractors, combines, corn heads, platforms, planters up to 12 row and greater than 12 row, drill box air CCS, sprayers, balers, mower conditioners, tillage, self-propelled forage harvesters and their heads, skid steers, compact track loaders, compact wheel loaders and compact excavators. Self-repair resources are available too, including Service ADVISOR, operator manuals, Operations Center Pro Service, Expert Alerts and Equipment Mobile, plus the John Deere ExpertConnect app.
TRULAND has been in the grain storage and handling business for almost 60 years, and around Archbold that side of the business is as important as equipment. Drying capacity is what decides whether you can keep the combine rolling when corn comes off wet, which happens often enough in northwest Ohio.
We provide full design and site layout services, equipment selection, expert installation, routine and preventative maintenance, custom millwright work and complete dryer service. We work with Brock on-farm grain storage systems, Meyer and Superb grain dryers, Brock pneumatic systems, Brock conditioning fans and heaters, Farm Fans dryers and parts, KLEENair systems, Grain Management Systems, and Honeyville bucket elevators, catwalks, conveyors, support structures and towers. We also stock a large inventory of Hutchinson and Westfield. The goal is straightforward, which is to handle everything from seed to storage.
From Archbold we regularly work with farms toward Pettisville, Stryker, Ridgeville Corners, Wauseon, Fayette, West Unity, Napoleon and across the line into Williams and Henry counties. Our Wauseon store is close by, and Napoleon and Edgerton are not far, which is one of the practical advantages of the group. Parts move between stores. Used equipment moves between stores. If a machine is at another TRULAND location in Indiana or Ohio, you can look at it without hunting through classifieds across two states.
Across all 18 stores our used inventory covers tractors, harvesting equipment, tillage, planting and seeding, sprayers, grain handling, hay and forage, utility vehicles, compact construction and precision ag. That depth is hard for a single-store dealer to match.

Our Archbold service department services John Deere combines, corn heads and platforms, and we run inspection programs for all three. Fulton County harvest windows are short, so a pre-harvest inspection in late summer is the cheapest insurance you can buy. Call 419-445-1565 to get on the schedule. If a part is not local, we transfer from other TRULAND stores across Indiana and Ohio instead of leaving your machine parked.
We support the precision ag side of it. H2Ohio enrollment in Fulton County requires a current soil test no older than four years and an approved nutrient management plan, and the field work behind that runs on good data. We build management zones or sample grids and upload them to John Deere Operations Center for $1 per acre, and we handle soil nitrogen, tissue and manure testing. Call the Precision Ag Support Center at (260) 296-2391.

No. TRULAND rentals are available at our Wauseon, Ohio store and our Angola, Indiana store only. Wauseon is the closer of the two for Archbold customers, and the fleet there covers skid steers and attachments, mini excavators, trailers, generators, air compressors, lifts, saws, pumps and more. Call Wauseon at 419-335-7368 for rental availability. For sales, parts and service in Archbold, call 419-445-1565.
It depends on your rotation, tile and residue load, which is why it is worth a conversation rather than a catalog page. We handle John Deere tillage along with Great Plains and Kuhn, and we run a tillage inspection program to keep sweeps, discs and bearings from failing mid-pass. Heavy clay is unforgiving about compaction, so timing and setup matter as much as the tool. Call 419-445-1565.
Monday through Friday 7:30am to 5:00pm and Saturday 7:30am to noon. Call 419-445-1565 to reach the Archbold team directly.
