Our Angola store is the John Deere dealership for Steuben County lake country, serving row crop farms, hay ground, acreage owners and contractors in Indiana's northeast corner, and it is one of only two TRULAND stores with a full rental fleet.
TRULAND Equipment in Angola is the John Deere dealership for Steuben County. We handle sales, parts and service for John Deere tractors, combines, hay equipment, Gators, mowers and compact construction machines, along with STIHL, Kuhn, Great Plains, Toro, SnowEx and Boss. Call 260-665-5820 to check parts, book service or ask about a machine. We also serve Fremont, Orland, Hamilton, Pleasant Lake, Ashley and Hudson.
Steuben County does not farm like the flat black ground an hour south. The last glaciers left this corner of Indiana covered in moraines, kettle holes and more than a hundred natural lakes, including Lake James, and that terrain shapes how ground gets worked here. Fields roll. Field edges follow lake shores, woodlots and the Pigeon Creek and Pigeon River drainage that runs west toward the St. Joseph River. A lot of operations here are 300 to 900 acre corn and soybean farms with hay ground, pasture and beef or dairy cattle mixed in, and a good number of them are still run by one family with one hired hand.
That mix means the equipment lineup at our Angola store looks different than at a store in the middle of a 3,000 acre grain operation. We sell and support the big row crop tractors and combines, but we also move a lot of utility tractors, loaders, mower conditioners, balers and Gators, because the farm here is usually a livestock farm and a hay farm and a grain farm all at once. If you farm around Fremont, Orland, Hamilton or Pleasant Lake, that is the equipment mix we stock for.
John Deere is the primary line, and we handle everything from sub-compact tractors through row crop tractors, combines, planters, sprayers and hay and forage equipment. On the smaller end, the 1023E, 1025R, 2025R and 3025E tractor and loader packages move steadily here because so much of Steuben County is 5 to 40 acre lake property, horse ground and hobby farms that still need real equipment.
We also carry Kuhn and Great Plains, which matter for hay tools and tillage in this county, plus CAM Superline trailers, Toro, SnowEx and Boss snow plows. Winter is a real season in northeast Indiana and plow and spreader work keeps crews and municipalities busy from November through March. Our STIHL catalog runs deep for saws, trimmers and blowers, which is steady business in a county with as much woods and lake frontage as this one.
Angola is one of only two TRULAND stores with a rental fleet. The other is Wauseon, Ohio. If you need a machine for one job instead of buying it, this is the store to call at 260-665-5820.
The rental categories here cover skid steers and attachments, mini excavators, compact construction equipment, trailers, generators, air compressors, pumps, pressure washers, saws, lifts, concrete and masonry equipment, surface prep and floor care, heating and cooling air management, facility maintenance and cleaning, tractor accessories, Gators, landscaping and lawn care equipment, and tree care equipment. That range fits how work actually happens around the lakes, where a seawall job, a driveway, a septic repair and a tree removal might all land on the same crew in the same month.
Northeast Indiana gives you narrow windows. Planting can get cut short by a wet May, and fall harvest around here can turn from ideal to unworkable in two days. A combine down on a Saturday in October is not a Monday problem, so the Angola parts counter and service department are built around getting you running again inside your window, not inside a schedule.
We carry parts for tractors, tillage tools, planters, air seeders, drills, sprayers, hay equipment, ag technology, skid steers, track loaders, mini excavators and wheel loaders. You can also order parts online through Shop.Deere.com, and we operate Parts Drop Locations so you are not always driving into town. Off-season inspection programs are the cheapest way to avoid an in-season breakdown. We run inspections for 4WD tractors, row crop tractors, combines, corn heads, platforms, planters, drills, sprayers, balers, mower conditioners, tillage tools, forage harvesters, skid steers, compact track loaders, compact wheel loaders and compact excavators.
Precision ag earns its keep faster on odd-shaped ground than it does on a square section. When your fields wrap around a lake, a woodlot or a county drain, accurate boundaries, guidance lines and section control stop a lot of overlap and skips. We do boundary mapping using a TRULAND-supplied 835M Gator and precision ag equipment, driving the boundaries and uploading them into John Deere Operations Center, and a Full-Service Boundary Program is available.
Beyond that, our Total Farm Support Plan is $1,500 for spring or fall. It covers an Operations Center pre-season review and data clean-up, data transfer from Operations Center to your equipment, software updates for equipment compatibility, in-field technology startup and a full year of Call Center support. Agronomy service packages include Data Services at $1 per acre for management zones or sample grids uploaded to Operations Center, in-season soil nitrogen testing at $60 per sample, plant tissue testing at $60 per sample and manure testing at $90 per sample. Phone support runs $299 per year through our Precision Ag Support Center at (260) 296-2391.
TRULAND runs 18 stores across Indiana and Ohio. For a customer in Steuben County, that mostly shows up in two ways. First, parts. If a part is not on the shelf in Angola but is sitting in Fort Wayne, Wabash or Wauseon, we move it rather than putting you on a factory backorder. Second, used equipment. Our used inventory across the group runs to hundreds of units at any given time, including tractors, combines, tillage, planting and seeding, sprayers, grain handling, hay and forage, utility vehicles and compact construction machines. If the tractor you want is at another store, we can look at getting it here instead of telling you we do not have one.
The same goes for expertise. Grain systems work, precision ag support and technician specialties are shared across the group, so a small store does not mean a small bench.
